I need some help.
I've been asked to compile the best Bar Songs of all-time. By bar songs I mean the stuff you'll listen to no matter how lit or sober you are, if only because all the jumblies are singing and dancing. You know the tunes. Admit it. I'm talking it's late at nite, there's a DJ, and you were at the club/bar/dive with the friends, hookup, girlfriend/wife, Boyfriend (Yes Shadow I didn't forget ya) or whatever and you hear these tunes over and over.
Date yourself....What are they?
Sadly I remember these god awful tunes: Piano Man American Pie Greased Lightning
What's left? Or am I a stroke and don't know it.

Off the top of my head......I was pretty drunk in those bars and the gray-matter is pretty much fucked......don't remember much.
"Switching to glide/This Beat Goes On" - the Kings "Stay" - Jackson Brown "Let's Shake" - Teenage Head "She Sells Sanctuary" - the Cult "I Love Rock and Roll" - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts "Hey Jude" - the Beatles "Mony Mony" - Billy Idol "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen (maybe not a great bar song, but cool nonetheless when you're hammered with the buddies) "My Generation" - the Who "Rock the Casbah" - the Clash "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin" - Righteous Bros. (well it got the chick in Top Gun) "Louie Louie" - the Kingsmen "You Really Got Me" - the Kinks "Suspicious Minds" - Elvis Presley "Shout" - The Isley Brothers "Who Do You Love" - Bo Diddley "I Wanna Be Sedated" - The Ramones "Rock Lobster" - The B-52's
and pick a couple of AC/DC standards and you've got a good start!
I'm outie....my brain hurts....I need a drink!

switching to glide? every time rock 101 plays that annoying piece of fucking shit of a song I want to go down to the station with C4 and fix their programing dept . they play it everyday some times more than once I can't begin to imagine who the shutin retard is that sits at home phoning in day after day asking to play the same lame old 70's 80's garbage like that. The rest of your list might be ok but I never drank in any of those bars

what decade are we talking about here? you old farts I liked where you were going with AC/DC and the Cult, maybe some Aerosmith and Guns N Roses. Also, some Soundgarden, some STP maybe, Buckcherry's Crazy Bitch would be good to have on a bar song mix.

I'm just going with some tunes I can vaguely remember hearing at bars during the late 70's and most of the 80's through the fog of booze and drugs. That was my peek era (high-school/university/single/childless) for partying. For the most part, I didn't give a fuck what was playing as long as it was loud and rhythmic. And hate it or not, if you didn't hear "Switching to Glide" in bars in the early-80's you must have been in C&W bars, which didn't exist where I hung out (not that I'd be caught dead in one). One of the best experiences of my life involved that song - some dirty dancing with two babes (who were inseparable friends, if you get what I mean) followed by a private beach party after closing time at my cottage.....so whatever, this song would make my list if just for the memories.
Oh and I almost forgot.....fuck you!

I don't hate april wine or trooper I hate bubble gum teeny bopper pop music like half the stuff vlad listens to. I still remember putting Stevie Ray Vaughn's version of voodoo child which is arguably better than Jimi's and saying Tom my boy this is some of best music ever made ,well the cocksucker gives me the whatever look and says I don't think so .Is it me or is that fucked up or what, imagine me calling vlad my boy he's only 1 year younger than me
