Yeah, After being racially slandered and labled as an uber-noob by Anjel and everyone, I decided to buy a headset (AGAINST MY BELIEFS AND VALUES AS A CHEAP ASIAN). Uhh Anyways. I'm having trouble with the microphone. When I record myself using Windows recorder, the mic isn't sensitive at all. I literally have to yell into the mic, in order for sound to be heard, and even when it records the sound...the audio play back is very almost inaudible. I checked my settings in my sound devices and volume settings still no go! HELP?!

what sound card are you using, i have a creative and often i have to enable the mic in the mixer setting to get any response, sometimes i also have to set up the mic in hardware options in xp or it doesn't work either and a real noob one i've fallen for is not to have my volume up, or another is that a program has priority over your sound volume and until its fixed nothing works, hope this helps. of course screaming at the people that made you buy a mic and headphone against your better pocketbook might help too, just joking.

Yeah it took me a long while to get my shiz to work in TS. Between my soundcard, onboard sound and recording devices, it got kinda confusing.
