I say Cable. If you get a good cable company you get hella fast DL speeds.

i have Time warner road runner cable, for now. No contract or anything, so i'll try it for a while. DSL they want me to sign a contract and all. Download speed is nice, but i installed their software that claimed "maximize your connection speeds" and my ping in the servers rose by 100!! Bastards, so i did some research, and turns out that what a lot of the companies do is have a "capping" prog put on your comp to put a cap on your modem...bastards. So yeah, trying to figure out how to "uncap" or tweak my shiz to get a better speed. It was so blazing fast before i downloaded their software for firewall and "medic" prog. Tried uninstalling, but it seems to have left the cap.

got it covered, downloaded a registry patch that maximized my broadband. Connection is back to "normal". Best its going to get anyway, unless I try DSL, but i just hate to sign a contract for DSL, and it turn out not to work well through these lines around here.

do some research and see how close the substation is to you b4 you even think about adsl, mine is about 1 1/2 blocks away from me so it's ok for me, but my cable is still faster!! ;D
Extreme Cable: $63.00 month 3 Dynamic IP's Best download: 4995 kbps Best upload: 1070 kbps

I've been on cable for 9 or 10 years now and never a problem, stay with the cable. I'm also in a sparsely populated area, that could make a difference.

I'm on DSL & there has only been the odd interuption (Telus). Very stable. Speeds are consistant. I've heard cable can be faster but also slower depending on how many users on the hub at once.
