I recently built two gaming rigs with virtually the same hardware. quad cores, x1900xtxs, mobos, etc. Only differences were memory depth and the cpu fansinks. For whatever reason I thought the one was VERY loud, figuring it was the cheaper cpu fansink. I think i was wrong..... Last nite playing AA I got RGB colors ONLY, wow was that fun trying to play...not. Tried Flatout2 and in the section to choose cars, the bodies were missing...then going to play....CRAP...hmm...shut down, wait, reboot and all better....it's got to be the VPU. Then it dawns on me, my rig never gets loud but my son's does. Well no shit, his VPU fan spins up under load, mine don't. Of course the catalyst control panel installed doesn't let me jack with the fan speed for whatever reason. Thank allah I remembed RivaTuner....don't want to overclock...just bring up the damn fanspeed. Now rather than a permanent 25%, I set it to permanent 59%, not louder, but DAMN cooler. Just thought I'd pass this along if you're having trouble with VPU temps

I have been having a problem with lock ups with CSS and CoD2. No other games. (I am still using the 6600gt nvidia gforce) I have been playing World of Warcraft for a couple weeks now and have had no problems. Heat gets a bit warmer (CSS i'm usually running about 43-48*C, WoW is running 48-58*C depending on the area i'm in hottest in cities where theres more movement and all)
I know this doesnt pertain to ATI, but i thought it'd throw this at you guys anyway here, since someone seems to be looking in here.
