let me tell you that every time I get asked to buy a "product service plan" at best buy or future shop I always say NO. well when I bought my sony 50" I thought that this one time I better get it just in case, NOPE WRONG bad move. I bought the 3 year product service plan but did not realize the plan runs consecutively with the manufacturers warranty so its really just a 2 year plan and guess what lol the optic block is failing and my warranty ran out 60 days ago and the price of the part alone is $800.00 plus. What a waist of 400 bucks for a piece of paper thats not even big enough to wipe my ass with lol just venting is all, sorry to bore you's with this shit

Sorry to hear you got ripped bro'. My brother owns car dealerships and he says in 30 years of being in that biz, that it sure seems like built-in obsolescence is a real deal. Before when parts gave way some time between, say 100,000 to 150,000kms, they now give way some time between 100,000 and 110,000kms. He says it makes ordering parts easier for him, so it's certainly a LOT easier for the manufacturer too.

Just a reminder guys, if you paid for your item with certain "visa" cards, they extend your warranty period one year. Its worth a shot, i've heard of people having electronics covered by them

Yeah, all the gold cards generally double your warranty. That's why I always use them for electronics.
peace. bubs
