I think what made the Counter Strike series popular for so long was the simplicity of the game. You looked for servers ( They showed up fast ) Joined, spent your money on the weapons that worked for you, killed, died, got more money and did the same thing over and over... Simple as hell.
There was no major time commitment to put in to get the weapons that worked for you. You didn't have to log in 100 hours to get a red dot sight for a assault weapon and then another 100 hours to get a decent scope for the Awp and when teams we're out of balance it auto balanced them out. You showed and played and the only difference between you and another person we're how skilled you we're at the game, the weapons and gear we're equal.
So there lie's my beef with the COD's and BFBC game's yea its great that you've got the time to put in to get the highest level grenade launchers, upgraded damage levels for weapons and vests, scopes and just about everything else compared to the new guy who just bought the game yesterday And I'm sure that your ass kicking level's are really high when your ranked at 28 vs the 1-10 people and good for you you've earned it... But really how much better are any one of us vs. each other with the same load out ?
Now if CSS had went another level and set it up on bigger maps with more weapon options to buy and way better graphics would we still be playing the new version. I would.
Time for gaming should be quick and simple and shouldn't involve a month of commitment to get to the same load out as the next guy. The only difference that should show is how skilled you are at the game.
