I`ve just bought a laptop with win7 64 bit installed on it. It works great!!! I`ve also bought a new 1.5 tb hard drive & windows 7 64 bit home premium for my gaming rig. Before this I installed & ran the compatibility software, my machine passed. I then disconnected my xp harddrive & installed the new 1.5 tb drive then windows 7. All successful. I installed steam & started to download BFBC2. It was late, so I left the machine run & continue the download overnite. The next morning, I awoke to find the machine off, so I booted it up. When steam started, it failed to connect... no internet connection. I found 64 bit win 7 drivers for my onboard lan (Nvidia), installed them & they wouldn`t work. I reset the modem, no dice. I installed my wireless N card, still no connection. Yet my new laptop, old pc & ipod all had connection. I gave up that day.. came back the next & reinstalled win7. My wireless N card worked so I downloaded & installed all windows updates. I then decided to buy a new ethernet adaptor. None available had the Win7 logo on them. I installed the adaptor & drivers. It worked!!!! I then checked the onboard ports, they worked as well. I have been getting a blue screen from time to time. Also steam had an issue installing the second time around. Seems to be working fine now. BFBC2 is 97% downloaded. What a painfull install though.
